So I've never been big on the idea of blogging, and who knows if anyone will even look at it, but I feel like its a fun way to journal. Plus one of my New Years Resolution and on my bucket list is to journal at least once a week.
But right now I am currently in my room, back in Virginia, just contemplating what I'll do tomorrow and hoping to see a few friends before I head back to good old Logan, Utah. I can't even believe break has gone this fast. It seems like only yesterday that I was heading on a plane that morning of December 17 to Regan National Airport. I remember that day, it was unreal that I was actually home. After four months of being 2,000 miles away I finally was going home.
I walked into 109 Cedargrove Place, at 7 that night. And as I was barely there, my dad left, mom was on the phone and Mchael was working on some x-box thing....typical. haha. So I headed out to see my good friend Amanda Hannon, and met up with our friends Laura, Tyler and his friend Jordan. I ended up falling asleep at Amanda's and woke up around 6 in the morning and headed home, and finally got to sleep in my glorious queen size bed. But as I was getting ready for bed ( at 6 in the morning mind you) my mother walked in and was like "why are you making so much noise?" I guess she wasn't used to having someone in the room over for a while. :)
The next day I went to Matthew's basket ball game, where we were playing, which has to be one of my favorite families, the Colemans. Six-year old Hannah was all over me the whole game, and kept asking if she could come home with me, and when her mom said we'll her mom has recitals today, she firmly replied "I don't care!" I love that little girl. I then went to my mother's two recitals and was able to see a few family friends. That night we had our ward party. It was so exciting to see all my good friends after so many months! Later that night my friend Erica and I went up to Lucketts where we met up with the Lucketts crew. Of course by another one of my favorite eighth grade boys, Saxon Downs, was harassed with many dumb blonde jokes, as I am now a blonde :)
The next day (12/19) was Sunday, and of course I had 9 am church. And being jet-lagged didn't help. I walked in, sat next to the Colemans and looked over at Krisitn and just shook my head, I felt like death. But it was still fun to see a ton of people. Luckily I took a 3 or 4 hour nap! That night my friends Ashley, Dylan, Will, and Mike stopped by and we were able to catch up on college life.
On Monday night I was able to go to Christina Barbini's basketball game. Tuscorora ( the new high school) vs. Loudoun County (my old Alumni :) And of course the Mormon crew showed up in force!
Tuesday, I went back to good old Loudoun County High School. I was able to see some old teachers, and friends, and after that day I am pretty sure I'll never be going back. haha
On Friday, it was Christmas Eve. We had the Colemans, the Coleman's friends the Olsons, Hales and the Marissa (Krisitin's sister) over. It was a blast! I ate wayyy to much, and we did the traditional reenactment of the nativity. Then that night we got our christmas jammies. But bless my mother, somehow she bought one with pink skulls and hearts on them....wasn't too keen on the skulls. haha And of course Daddy read the classic "The Night Before Christmas".
CHRISTMAS!! This year I had absolutely NO idea what I was getting since I didn't really ask for anything specific, plus I already got too much with graduation and going to college already! But I ended getting up a lot of stuff to keep warm (surprise, surprise!) But I also got $200 bucks to go skiing, Toy Story 3, clothes, a sun lamp, boggle and a purple snuggie! But my main Christmas present in my mind was spending time with my family! :)
The next day (12/26) was Sunday, and I went to my friend Bret Tagg's farewell. He is headed off to Brazil for 2 years! He gave an amazing talk and ended up being the only speaker...due to circumstances :/ I'll miss him, but I'm so proud he's going on a mission!!
The whole next week, I was a complete and utter bum. I began the series Psych and have almost finished the first four seasons. I slept A TON!! But on Wednesday I was able to go with my mom, my friend Cory (who also goes to USU) and his mother and niece, into DC! We went to the American History Museum and the National Archives! I love going into the city and it was way fun to hang out with a fellow Aggie!!
I had a very relaxed New Years, as I spent it with my parents, my brother Matthew, (Michael was at a church dance...too cool for us) haha, my friend Cory and Cassidy and our neighbor s the Grahams. We played my new favorite game, Ticket to Ride...I am sooo addicted!! And I still haven't won!! It's ridiculous! But on Midnight we had our Martinellis and fireworks! Hopefully 2011 will bring a lot more than 2010 did! But that night I had to go pick Michael and two of his friends up from Oakton...aren't I just an amazing sister?! :)
On New Years Day we took down ALL our Christmas decorations. A Simmons first, I must say!
This past Tuesday ( 1/4) I went to Dr. Heyman. I know Dr. Heyman will probably never read this, but I just have to give a shout-out to my doctor. He is probably the best doctor I have and will ever have! And hopefully I'll be able to be fixed in 2011!! But after a doctor appt. you always need a little pick-me-upper. So me and my mother went to Blue Ridge Grill for Lunch and then a whole day of shopping...my poor father probably doesn't know how much we spent...but regardless I got AMAZING deals! The outlets have amazing sales this time of year...take note for next year!
On Wednesday, I bounced from meal to meal. First with the fabulous Marci Anderson and Annie Green. Then with my old high school friends, Amanda Hannon, Anna DeCriscio, Laura Stone, and Colleen McGrew to Ruby Tuesdays. It was way good catching up and hearing about everyone's crazy adventures in college life. We basically hung out all day and ended up going to our friend Chris's house for a party and saw some more people. I was happy to finally get out!
Yesterday, I slept until 1...impressive I know..and I would have kept going if it wasn't for my mother waking me up! But she came in saying 'I needed to clean my room and I couldn't do anything until that happened!" Glad I'm an adult right?! But anyways I cleaned and packed and then went to Ida Lee for a good hour or so and worked out with Mama Bear.
Today, I went to lunch with my Dad and Mom...at Taco Bell...what can I say my Dad was craving a crunch wrap supreme?! haha Then I had to get my blood taken....UGH I HATE GETTING MY BLOOD TAKEN!! If anyone would like to give me a nice juicy vain...so they can actually get blood from me that would be greatly appreciated, cause its ridiculous! I looked like a heroin addict with all the pokes and bandages I had on me after the whole ordeal, and they didn't even get all the blood they needed! I cried to say the least. haha. But after that my mother and I went to the cutest store called Charming Charlies, which is basically accessoreis of every kind! And with 2 hours and $115 dollars later...we finally got home and I was in a much better mood :) haha. But then tonight my mom, dad, and brother Matthew went down to my Aunt and Uncle's house down in Vienna. We were celebrating my cousin Eden's eighth birthday! We ate cake, opened gifts, and played XBOX Kinnect...way fun except I lost in a dance battle to my Uncle Todd...hopefully one day I'll redeem myself and beat him!! Overall it was just way fun spending time with family!
Phew! That was a long post, but it was my first and hopefully not my last!! Overall I am grateful for a wonderful holiday season, spent with family and friends!! :)
